Our client located in Richmond Hill is seeking a Senior Accountant for a full time opportunity in their Canadian head office.  Please see a list of responsibilities below:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Performing all financial month end functions: consolidation of entities; preparation, journal entry posting, account reconciliations, analysis, summarizing monthly financial statements
  • Inter-company and foreign exchange transactions
  • Cash flow projections and monitoring
  • Management of receivables and payables
  • Processing and posting of invoices, credit cards, and bank deposits
  • Overseeing payroll functions
  • Identifying and implementing process and internal control efficiency enhancements
  • Liaising with customers regarding orders, invoicing, and payments
  • Oversight and negotiation of vendor and contractor contracts
  • Financial and KPI analysis
  • Cost management
  • Treasury functions and cash management
  • Regulatory and tax reporting and management of tax remittances
  • Supervision and analysis of risk management areas such as insurance coverage
  • Liaising with department directors to provide support, analysis and recommendations for financial and operational report enhancements
  • Budgeting & forecasting
  • Involvement with strategic planning and Mergers & Acquisitions
  • Coordination of year-end audits and interfacing with the external auditors & tax professionals
  • Implementation of a new Accounting system; standardization of accounting reporting across all entities; report writing capabilities
  • Special projects as they arise

The successful applicant will meet the following requirements:
  • Minimum of 6 years of broad and progressive accounting experience with at least 2 years as a Senior Accountant or Controller
  • Possess a professional accounting designation
  • Have proven experience in all areas mentioned
  • Excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken
  • Experience with systems integrations
  • Have at least 3 years working with multiple legal entities
  • Supervisory skills
  • Strong computer literacy including advanced excel skills
